It’s best to do the immigration and customs declarations forms online, before you get to Japan to save any hassle when you arrive. First head here: https://services.digital.go.jp/en/visit-japan-web/ to start the process.
1) Click “Start using this service now”
2) Create account and follow instructions for email sign up
3) Sign in with newly created details and create a trip
4) You can add other people to your log in to and save it for other trips, up t0 10
5) Also be sure to fill the customs declaration too, it is the same QR code, you’ll be asked to show this at immigration and as you pass through customs on your way into Japan
Grab an E-sim For Your Smartphone, if Applicable
If you have a reasonably modern smartphone then it makes sense to grab an E-sim and install this before you even board the plane to Japan.
